He says yoo brade runna...

It started out reminding me of artists like Vangelis and Tangerine Dream... which is cool. I like heavy synth a lot but I think the delayed/reverbed piano clashes with it heavily. You should do something to it to get rid of the Enya factor. The strings at the end were also a bit late. Why have them if they are only there for less than twenty seconds?

I have to take away points for the use of DL_DrillNB. Well I might not take points away but... I really hate using and hearing stock FL Studio samples.

Overall not a bad piece. Keep it up.

pichuscute0 responds:

Yeah, I really should replace that DL_Drill with something else, or atleast change it some. Enya factor? I don't here where the piano is clashing at all, to be honest. :\
I am planning something with the strings at the end, you'll just have to wait and see......

I like it!

That drum loop is killer. Didn't hear much variation in it but the track didn't need it.

This is definitely original and the samples are great.

The melody is off beat for a second there... but thats an easy fix.

I hate fade outs... but thats just me. It fits the track.

Stellar job.

Drakanious responds:

I quantized the drum loop to sync up better with the rest of the song.

Beats are cool

The beats are nice. The melodies aren't bad. But, the samples you used are all really techno flavored. Not a bad thing for the most part. I like the little sound byte of what sounds like a kung fu punch. The voice-synth bugs the hell out of me even though its purpose is to introduce you. And with the idea that its an intro in mind... its pretty long. I would imagine an intro track to be much shorter. This thing is much longer even than the "THX" intro. Not bad work... though it is chaotic and techno-crazy.

Not bad work at all. Id like to hear you work with less techno crazy synth and bleep bleep samples.

Critical-Collision responds:

Thank you Shat-Man we appreciate your review.

Well it's only 30 seconds long and we wanted to put some effort into it, so we made it this length.

imagine, if you will, an album, with this track as the albums opening. it would seem more fitting. the length isn't too big of an issue, but meh

Thank You

Fade from one genre to the next.

The guitar and the first drum that come in remind me of Tarantino flicks and pulp action sort of things. Very lo-fi and slick. After those elements get overshadowed and eventually replaced by organ samples and strange trance type melodies of higher fidelity it gets a bit chaotic. Like you started watching Reservoir Dogs and ended up finishing Tron.

Its nice... I listened a couple times. Just needs some structure.

mgear responds:

Haha i kinda thought that was funny im just using loops because i dont get fruity loops if you know can you help me or something

Definitely drum n bass.

This track has some good beats and melodies mixed in. Though, The snare drum that comes in a few times and up tempos to lead into the rest of the beats is a bit out of place for such a breakbeat heavy track. The drum loops only repeat and don't slice up at all. Also, the whole thing sounds like a few different tracks strung together rather than one complete song. Personally I would like to hear some melody coming from some other source than the heavy bass synth.

Not a bad piece... great dnb feel... though the beats and melody just repeat over and over again... not much to it in that respect.

Nice work.

HyperTech424 responds:

Hey man. Thanks for the advice. I will keep that in mind. The reason they both sound the same is because pulsin in tacky a bit suped-up.

Keep up the good work with your music.

Thanks HyperTech

Very nice indeed.

I dont really have anything bad to say about this track. Its good to listen to and sounds composed well. In my opinion its ridiculous to call a song repetitive when it falls into this genre of dnb. This reminds me of Sonic Mayhem and Peiter K. Very good stuff. Well done... even the fade out is nice.

titanium505 responds:

thanx for the review!!!

Nice little tune.

I like the melody a lot. The drums are good but sound better when they are fading in for some reason... maybe its just me. This track also reminds me of Peiter K a lot... you should check him out. The ambient thing you have going on in the background is nice but its a bit repetitive. As for composition this isnt bad... the fade out of the melody toward the middle of the track was a bit sudden but when it came back it was golden. Overall nice track and I dont have much else to say against it except... I dont enjoy songs that fade out at the end. =)

Good work.

titanium505 responds:

thanx for the review!!!!! i know, alot of people don't like songs that fade out at the end, so i know what u mean. i tried to make a song not fade out, but didn't have good results. thanx for the advice though!!! PS: Pieter K's songs are tight. LOL!

Ok, but needs work

This one starts off a bit dull. The drums never change and most of the samples sound harsh... the track peaks. Its repetitive... though the bleeping melody is nice when it does come in. Personally I think this track relies on sound bytes and the amen break too much (and when the amen does come in... its for only a few seconds and it doesnt change up at all). Sounds and FX come in randomly... its like more than one song. Id say work on composition and getting the samples EQed better. Its a bit long as well.

Its not a bad effort... it just needs direction.

Kronenburg responds:

thanks for you reveiw!

Not bad...

First off... the beat is way to simple and doesnt register as breakbeat to me. This tune reminds me of the driving game RUSH back on the n64. Very rave and techno inspired. The melodies are great and it progresses well. The little flute that comes in every once in a while is a nice touch though it might sound a bit out of place. Work on the beat... please.

All and all not a bad piece of work. Personally I hate the drum... but thats just me.

Keep these coming.

TheComet responds:

the flp got corrupted on me, this actually an export from before I did some of the editing and started remastering

if I can recover the file though I'm submitting the song the way it was meant to be, not all peaky and weak like this atm

Reminds me of Zelda music.

Right off the bat it reminds me of some music from the zelda 64 game. The drums are cool... but seem a bit quiet in the higher frequencies. When all of the samples get going its a pretty piece. Though the piano might come in a bit too late. It seemed like a big change to make so far into the song... it also sounds very moby.

This isnt bad... though a bit unorganized on the grand scale. Fading out with only the piano seemed a bit out of place as well.

Not bad work... its a nice piece of music. Keep these coming.

Jimbobsthebest responds:

Thanks for spending the time to listen to this. I can't say this reminds me of Zelda music, but i'll take it as a compliment ;)

Cheers, James

I make breakbeat/drum n bass style music using Fruityloops, Cool Edit, mostly free or custom made samples, and my inability to focus on anything else. I believe in detailed constructive critisism. Advice is infinitly more useful than praise or scorn.
