A very pretty piece.

This one starts out sounding almost trance. The drum is recognizable but I like what youve done with it. It starts out a bit repetitive but once the piano/electronic sample melodies kick in it starts to take off. I definitely like the atmosphere. It feels very classic video game to me. My only problem with it is probably how the samples layering toward the middle/end sort of blend together and peak. The drums could also use some leveling to bring them out.

The best part has to be the great melodies. Awesome job.

Random intro and end... nice middle.

Its pretty simple from the beginning and doesnt include much melody till about a half minute in. Though the melody is nice once it kicks in. This track would be better if it had more structure to it. It jumps around... suddenly gives you a taste of a nice melody... then jumps right into the end. The beats and effects arent bad... its just composed poorly. The good parts stand out quite a bit though. I like it for the most part. Keep em coming.

Yeah, I agree with you. This is an old track though, lol... I've kinda lost interest in GarageBand though. . . teachers at school locked it and I don't have an eMac at home :\ I'm working on improving my FL skills though, but I doubt I'll have anything out soon, lmao. . .
thanks for the review

Very fruity loops...

Not bad for a first tune... but I can immediatly recognize half the samples you used. The track lacks FX. The shaker is totally faded to the left channel. The melody isnt bad... but it doesnt really change. The "take this out" sound-bite is insanely common and I lament its use.

Im just happy you know how to use the most basic functions of the FL layout... it took me a while to find the playlist function.

Definitly keep it up.

Thnx for the review a little harsh but fair thnx...

It took me 30min to find the playlist stuff but it's pretty hard to make melodies and tunes at least i think so so i just putted some vocals a drum loop a bass en stuff in it and it sounded ok...

Anyway thnx 4 the review

I really loved bomberman 64

I think I recognize the first tune from the game... its quite nice. Cant say much for this since its unoriginal... but it puts forth a very distinct electronic feel. Really the only thing putting this in the drum n bass category is the very quiet drum you have goin on in the background. Regardless, I enjoyed it.

Its definitly drum n bass.

This one is way heavy in the bass... this tends to snuff out the rest of the samples. The melody doesnt get much of a chance to stand out due to the low frequency... but its not bad. The beat is ok though it might benefit from some level tweaking to get it standing out.

Nice job for a first try. Maybe try some more?

The beat kills this one.

Immediatly the beat kills your originality score... ive heard it before a couple of times. The second break you used isnt bad but ive heard it before as well. The bassey melody thing you have going on fits well for this kind of track even if it is just an arpeggio. The melody during the second half is a lot better... though I would have liked to hear some change ups.

Its not bad... but it definitly needs fine tuning and further personal touch.

You're right, I'm a rookie.
I understand what you're saying. I'll take your advice and get more sophisticated.

Off the shelf samples.

A lot of the samples youve used sound very familliar and generic. It is also indeed spontaneous like you say. The beat is ok... kind of heavy in the bass. The ambience in the background feels sort of stuck. The melody isnt bad but again... the samples youve used make the track sound very off the shelf. The composition isnt bad for a "beta". Critiques aside its definitely worth a listen or two.

Ill definitely check out the final version.

A lot of parts were finished hurriedly. A lot of samples are off the shelf, however they aren't the original samples unmodified.

Thanks for the review. It tells me what to fix! :D

Very unique and groovy.

I like this piece even if I do have some critique. The beat might be overshadowing the rest of the track a bit. I like the melodies a lot and wish they were a bit louder. It gets off to kind of a slow start but once it all comes together its a groovy sound. The part in the middle where the song changes and everything but the melody gets quiet kinda bothers me... it seems harsh compared to the rest of the song.

Favorite part has to be when the song comes back after the break in the middle... very funky. Good work.

Sounds like Britan dnb to me.

This reminds me of the london label good looking records style of drum n bass. Very old school and funky. Though this track seems somewhat low key... or simple. Its got a great beat and the melody isnt bad but I dont think it varies enough for how long it is. I enjoy listening to it and am glad to hear something composed with fidelity in mind. Good work over all.

krimbe responds:

Thank you very much for these honest but kind words :)

I like it a lot.

This track has insane flavor. The drums are fast pased and great. The sample you used for the melody is nice and different. The only problem I can hear is the drums losing the rythm somewhere in the middle there... it threw me off the first time. Aside from this its an awesome track.

DJ-OPQ responds:

Oh thx a lot ,but I did that on purpose! ^^

I make breakbeat/drum n bass style music using Fruityloops, Cool Edit, mostly free or custom made samples, and my inability to focus on anything else. I believe in detailed constructive critisism. Advice is infinitly more useful than praise or scorn.
